Finding the right combination of intelligence and empathy, organization and adaptability, ability to communicate and willingness to act not just as a tutor but also as a mentor and a friend to our students and families has been no small task. We are policy wonks and philosophers, PhDs and college students, mathematicians, writers, thinkers, dreamers. We are successful because we approach each engagement with dedication, knowledge of the task, and the drive to deliver results, a process crafted to each individual student.

I admit that I hesitated both before my very first client years ago, and before deciding to start a company. Would I succeed, but more importantly, would the students I was tutoring succeed? Doubt is natural, fear of failure is rational, and these emotions are often manifest in missed homework assignments, poor performance in difficult classes, and frayed nerves on test day.

Our team knows the materials and what is required for admittance to the top middle school and secondary schools in New York City, and the top universities in the world. We know and teach both the life-strategies needed to prioritize time for the economics problem set after soccer practice and Latin club, and the test-taking strategies needed to answer those thirty questions in thirty minutes on the SHSAT, SAT, or otherwise. More than anything else, our team knows that educators make a difference, and the individualized approach we take ensures that the difference is a positive one.
